Arsenal News 24/7
Read up on finances mate. Wages come out of operating expenses not the transfer fee.
Thanks for the comment. Arsene himself has said that the transfer budget gets used for the transfer fee, agents fees for that transfer and the wages for the first contract. Contracts after that come out of the operating budget.

Nice to see a really balanced article from an Arsenal fan and an acknowledgement that Sunderland outfought AND outplayed Arsenal.
While I completely agree with what Arsene Wenger has achieved, there is a clear mismatch between the players you buy and the apparent expectation of your fans. One of those has to change and, given that your owner appears to be in it for the money, I am afraid that it probably has to be the latter.
One other thing, you most desperately need to add someone to your backroom staff with an understanding of tactics who is prepared to argue the case with Mr Wenger. I saw a number of people in the week advocating that a draw would be a decent result and you could achieve that by hanging back and forcing us to come at you. Instead, you went for your normal tactics and played right into our hands. Then, when a change was needed, the change appears to have been aimed at proving a point to Walcott rather than getting back into the game.
Wenger has been brilliant for you but he needs to be challenged and I think that the best thing you can do is to get someone in who is capable of challenging him from within.
Excellent article WG, and straight to the meat of the matter.
You were trying to show how a transfer budget of
Hi RA,
Thanks for the support. Totally agree with you. Once we get rid of the stadium debt we might be a bit more flush, but for now it’s the bargain bin for us.

well written article ..makes sense ! arsene is still d man fr arsenal ..no doubt !!!
@Goonerboy
Thanks for the support
Appreciate the comments!

I scroll around the sites looking for some “cuckoo talent”, but alas , you do not fit the bill. You are far too normal and intelligent, so I will pop back to AA and do some investigative work on how Redders was let loose.
Fine post wiggy. Just a question, I wonder how much Torres cost if you include his wages for 5 years into the little transfer fee ?,
@Headhunter
I wonder whether it was media prattle, but I did hear that Torres was on
Good article until you get onto Wenger. From there on, utter dross. Players used to come to arsenal because of Wenger… Now they leave because of him. The man has lost the plot, his team know it and play accordingly. They are getting worse by the year, not better. Whose fault is that? Who picks the team? Who buys the players? Wake up and smell the coffee! Wenger is a has been, he’s deluded. He talks about team spirit, belief… Fuck me, the team have NO spirit at all
Pete
Hi Pete,
Thanks for contributing, I appreciate the support. I think some of the players Arsene has bought this season have been of a sufficient standard – the BFG, Olxade-Chamberlain, Arteta – all very good players and add to the team.
Fabregas didn’t leave because of Wenger he left for Barca and Nasri left for money.
Also I am a little bit confused, I didn’t defend the players. I just said that we have to support the team. Arsenal FC is bigger than the current squad. It is bigger than the result at the weekend.

Fine article WG.
You have expressed the pain we’re all feeling after Milan and Sunderland, but resisted (unlike most Arsenal bloggers) the temptation to have a tantrum in the direction of the manager, the Board or the players.
For what it’s worth I think you can’t divorce our (yet again) terrible injury luck from our recent travails. Prior to the fullback crisis we were looking pretty damn good.
Thanks Rocky,
I think in times of despair it is difficult enough without expending lots of wasted energy in the wrong direction.
I totally agree with you and I know we can turn it around.

Well done for getting on NN. Big things ahead for the Wigan Branch, I fancy.
Fine Post WG,
One ingrediant missing….David Dein (though not many will agree )
When are you putting up a new one WG?
Hi Rocky,
New post to be up at 11:30 this morning
Cheers
