I hadn’t heard about this (I guess it’s not big news in Canadia ) so I appreciate getting your account of it.
Whereabouts is the new facility? London?
I bet the FA bods visited Colney when they were planning out the place, in order to see how it’s done by the best!
Funnily enough, thanks to clubs like Arsenal, I feel there is a more technical generation of young players coming through and Woy could really reap the benefits if he’s brave enough to ditch some of the established big stars.
Thankfully Scumbag Terry has already removed himself from the equation. Just need to get rid of a few of the other tossers and we can start getting an England team that we can take pride in supporting.
The facility is in Burton-on-trent and it’s designed to basically train more UEFA pro and A licence coaches to improve the game at grass roots level whilst providing a new advanced training facility for England.
The FA only got backing from the premiership teams when they promised that the remit of the facility is not in housing and creating/building new talent like Lilleshall (http://lifa.co.uk) but they would take players from club academies and run tournaments, train more UEFA coaches and improve the game at grass roots level.
It is an incredible facility, but it will take years for it to bear real fruit and for now it is the likes of Defoe who get the benefit of the advanced sciences in place.
Interesting stuff Wiggy.
