Hazard warning – Marin makes a stand
on September 29, 2012 at 9:15 amThomas Vermaelen has been passed fit for the game this weekend. As the captain I expect him to return to the starting line-up although it is unclear who might drop out.
Both BFG and Koscielny had super games last week at Cited and deserve to keep their spot, but someone will have to drop out for the captain and I expect it will be Koscielny. Unfair perhaps, but based on performances alone this season the BFG has been immense and deserves to keep his place.
His positional sense has been beyond imagination as he as always found himself in the midst of all the action and has always done very well against even the most fleet of foot. His telescopic leg is almost legendary already and we are lucky to have so many talented defenders that now it is difficult to pick the first choice.
Marko Marin, the young German playmaker signed this summer for Chelski has been expressing his admiration for how totally

Well Wiggy, I’m reading this after watching the match.
Truth to tell, they were the better team and deserved the win. However, there’s no need to panic. We did fine and had chances to have grabbed a draw (or even a win).
Last week we deserved all three points and got one. This week we probably got what we deserved on the balance of play.
I do feel strongly that the BFG should be one of the first names on the team sheet and that we look better when he is playing with one of the other two alongside him.
Although the Chavs were stronger for most of the game, the goals they scored were both very avoidable, which is what makes it galling.
Still, it will reinforce to the team that we can’t take anything for granted or get ahead of ourselves. The next four league games are West Ham, Norwich, QPR and Reading and we need to take 10 points from that 12. If we do that, everything will be looking rosy when we head off for the next fixture – away at ManUre.
Did you get on Newsnow today? (I linked direct from Arsenal Arsenal)
I was gobsmacked when I heard that the BFG had been dropped. Crazy decision in my mind, smugly proven with the result. Am gutted with the result, I believe we have enough in the squad to win. I think we missed Diaby massively and our goal aside, I think Coquelin should have come on instead of the Ox.
Newsnow is working now, it was the virus that was changing the RSS feed. Glad its gone now, took me 3 hours to get rid.

You’re right about Coquelin instead of the Ox. I honestly can’t think of a game where Le Coq has come on and not impressed. He’s unlucky not to be getting more game time.
On Saturday he would have given us more bite in midfield and that, in turn, would have given more time and space for Santi and Mikel to work some magic.
