Well – despite all negative comments I celebrated St Totteringham’s Day and I defy any Arsenal Fan that says I shouldn’t.

Football is all about rivalries, if we cannot celebrate getting one over our local rivals for the 21st year running, then what is the point of it all?  “Stop being joyless human beings” to all those who seek to twist the celebrations into anything more or less than that.

The media is rife now with talk of negotiations with Borussia Monchengladbach for Xhaka and Real Madrid for Morata (their buy-back clause activates on the 1st July).

It’s clear we need reinforcements and Arsene has said as much with mentioning that the squad is short of three players and he intends to enter the market. Let’s hope that the purse strings are cut-loose and we are able to spend big to keep our big players such as Ozil and Sanchez happy.

Fantastic news this week for Cech, winning the Golden Glove in a season where we have underachieved. It gives a massive indicator at which end of the pitch we are struggling and its not at the back. Giroud hasn’t scored enough and his support cast haven’t exactly pulled up any trees either.

We’ve needed a clinical striker for a few years now, along with a powerful central midfielder. Could we make a real fight next season if we had those additions. I think we can.

Short but sweet, til next time Gooners!
