I share your optimism – there are some very encouraging signs. Mind you, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see some bumps along the road. The Chavs are unbeaten and top of the league, and if they happen to beat us tomorrow I hope people don’t start throwing their toys out of the pram.
I’m pleased you highlighted the contributions of Diaby and Gerv. They seem to still have plenty of critics among the fan base but they have both been very effective this year. Diaby against Liverpool was as good a MF performance as I have seen in a long time.
And I wrote a Post on Arsenal Arsenal the other day about how we are trying far more “take ons” (dribbles) this season and that our key dribbler is none other than the Swerve himself.
Thanks Rocky, as ever I massively appreciate your input. Our dribbling this season, largely down to Cazorla and the Swerve has been immense and it is a massive part of our attacking Arsenal. It creates space, commits players and adds impetus to any attacking move.
I think Arsene saw last season that teams are too smart to just get passed around all the time so he invested in confident, hard working players who have consistently good ball-retention (Podolski and Cazorla) whilst bringing a fit Diaby back into the fold. Gervinho’s confidence is back and he is taking his defenders on again and that is also a massive bonus and I felt his attacking threat against Citeh and Montpellier was there for all to see. A bit more consistency in front of goal and people will be labelling him as World Class.
A tag which seems all to easy to get based on country of origin rather than skillset.
Excellent summary of the last week Wiggy.

Fingers crossed for a big win tomorrow.
