There was a sense of anticipation before the game. I felt good, I looked at the teamsheet and whilst I had a concern about playing Gervinho up front, I could see Arsene

In the circumstances it is a masterpiece of tact and astute observation.
I am greatly disappointed with both the performance and the result, of course, but I don’t feel full of doom and foreboding as some fans clearly do.
On the other hand, when trying to analyse what has suddenly gone ‘wrong’ I cannot escape the conclusion that my disappointment is in danger of appearing to be over critical, given the general sentiment abroad at the moment.
I am going to take a short break to allow things to quieten down, so hope to be back later to chat, as the points you have raised are worth pursuing!
