Top-flight referee Mark Clattenberg has been through the mill recently in a race storm of almost Hurricane Sandy-like proportions. Hounded by the media, receiving hate mail and requiring security for him and his family, he has received treatment no less than what a Paedophile or Rapist would receive.
Except he is innocent. Completely innocent. Chelski went public on the testimony of one guy (Ramires) who cannot speak English and who needed Mikel to explain it to him. Mikel was closer to Clattenberg at the time of the alleged incident, but didn

Brilliantly put, WG, and leaving aside any fan bias against Chelsea, that is exactly what every normal person will think about them.
Racism cannot and must not be tolerated, but the way this ‘case’ has been conducted by that appalling club relegates this serious subject to the level of spiteful revenge, simply because they did not like his refereeing decisions.
They behaved disgustingly then, and they are behaving disgracefully now!
RA, as always thank you very much. I think this whole situation reflects the way Chelsea runs – from player to cleaner I think an unhealthy, un-wholesome attitude permeates the club.

Superb Post Wiggy! Really great. I hope it’s on Newsnow because it deserves to be read by a lot of people.
I wish Clattenberg would sue those classless twunts for libel, but he won’t because it would end his career as a top flight ref (he would never be considered impartial when reffing Chav games afterwards and you can’t have a ref who is excluded from officiating certain teams, notwithstanding Fergie’s best efforts to achieve same).
Racism is too serious an issue to be bandied about by childish players and a classless club just because they did not like the outcome of a game.
Thanks Rocky!
Clattenberg is apparently going to go for compensation and I hope he gets a shedload. Not that it would make any difference, the stain at Chelski runs deeper than the surface.

Wow, a liar and a cheat to get a taste of his own unpalatable medicine. However I believe not only should John Obi Mikel suffer financially, that is/was the aim of this individual when he made and/or supported false allegations, the Chelsea Football Club as well as it’s owner should suffer similarly to any, I hope, massive compensation. Money will not salve the wounds of damaged credibility & reputation, only an apology by owner, club and player can do that in some small way.
Oh how we should all remember the thuggery of one of Chelsea’s groundsmen physically abusing a Manchester United player AND this individual being found not guilty of racist allegations made against him.
It is about time that Chelsea were brought before the judicial arms of the F.A, E.P.L, UEFA and FIFA and receive severe punishment such as loss of points, relegation to a lower division and the players & officials directly involved names and shamed and forced to pay massive compensation amounts.
Thanks for commenting! Chelsea have often been at the core of racist, thuggish behaviour. Its endemic. It is buried in the very nature of the club. The fans revel in it, they are some of the most hateful fans around.
The very soul of Chelsea is tainted, perhaps beyond repair. Until the fans become interested in saving their club from itself monetary sanctions will be largely irrelevant.
