Tonight we welcome the Toffee’s to the Emirates in a game that could really kick us on in the run in, or it could really derail us and put a halt to our great run. There is real positives on the teamsheet today as Rosicky and the BFG are both back available and I could go a long way to find an Arsenal fan who wouldn’t want both of them in the first team right now.

The BFG has been consistently good all season and whilst he doesn’t have pace, he has a calming assurance at the back and he brings a level or organisation. Vermaelen came in at the weekend for him due to the red card he picked up against West Brom and whilst he had a good game, I think Arsene know that Koscielny and the BFG are a great partnership and he would be foolish to choose against returning to that formula tonight – especially with the height options that Everton have. Incidentally, once I wrote the above Arsenal.com published the teamsheet and Arsene clearly agrees with me, or vice versa…or whatever..

I expect us to line-up like this;

1
Sczcesny
38
Gibbs
6
Koscielny
4
BFG
3
Sagna
8
Arteta
16
Ramsey
19
Cazorla
10
Wilshire
12
Giroud
14
Walcott

Fellaini and Jelavic are both massive aerial threats and we will need both the BFG and Giroud to marshall them. Special mention to Giroud who is so superb defending aerial balls and he is worth playing every game just because of the options he provides across the whole pitch.

Arsene has also made a firm decision regarding Gervinho and has dropped him to the bench and returned Walcott to the starting line-up following his excellent cameo at the weekend. Whilst Gervinho has put in a couple of stunning performances, I think Walcott still offers a bit more of a goal-threat and I am hoping to see a bit more of that tonight. It’s a shame that Fabianski is injured, he has been in good form but also it will be really interesting to see how Sczcesny performs after being out of the side. Fabianski was a good talker, will Sczcesny have taken note?

I think the Everton defence can be got at with pace and direct running but we will have to be aware of the runs from midfield by Fellaini and Pienaar. Make no bones about it, this is no cakewalk. We will have to be focused and determined.

Come on you Gooners
